The Gospel of Thomas verse 77: “Jesus said… Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find Me there." I find solace in the woods and forests. Hiking in the forest is what brings peace to my soul and it’s energy is absorbed by my spirit. The wind in the leaves whisper to me, the smell of the earth fills my mind clearing out all my stress. Worries wash away with the sound of a small creek running through the forest or the soft patter of rain on the lush green leaves. The Forest is my refuge from the world of today. A place I can return to again and again like a faithful companion that holds my hand on my life journey. There in the forest I find God.

This image has a lot to say. The beautiful cypress trees reflecting on the bayou waters in Louisiana show an alligator slowly moving to intercept a tour boat.

In 2020 the Cameron Peak Fire destroyed approximately 200,000+ acres. This was taken in June 2021, nearly 10 months later. A sad but beautiful landscape.
